Trover Champion • Tina Richardson, RN, BSN
Clinical Leader, Critical Care Unit

Working in the Critical Care Unit means Tina Richardson sees patients in some of their worst moments. This means Tina and her team have to be at their best, every day — ready to go the extra mile to make things just a little less scary, just a little less overwhelming, for her already frightened patients. And their families.

It's Tina's job to ease those fears, so patients can concentrate on getting better. And she does so with the care, comfort and compassion that she would want if their roles were reversed. Of course, the latest technological advancements and clinical excellence play a big part in successful outcomes — but Tina will never be one to downplay the impact that human interactions have on healing.

Being a Pathway Champion means Tina sets a high standard for her team — and for herself. "Being a Pathway Champion means that my patients can expect more from me — that I must perform at a higher level," says Tina. "Patients should expect us to go about and beyond every single time."
